Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style with fine portraiture detail. The bust is bare-shouldered, displaying the characteristic short beard and classicizing facial features associated with Hadrianic coinage. The circular legend surrounds the portrait in Greek characters, identifying the emperor by his titles. The die engraving reflects the accomplished workshop production of the Trallian mint in the early to mid-2nd century AD.
