(Translation: Emperor Caesar Marcus Antonius Gordian)
Reverse description Heracles standing in three-quarter view facing right, his weight shifted onto his right side, with his right arm resting upon a club that stands upright on a small rectangular base. His left arm is bent at the elbow and rests upon his hip in a relaxed contrapposto stance. The Nemean lion skin is draped over his left shoulder and arm, serving as a canonical Heraclean attribute. A Greek civic legend in two lines or surrounding the field identifies the issuing city of Hypaepa and names the presiding strategos.
