Prusias ad Hypium — modern Konuralp in northwestern Turkey — was a Bithynian city that leveraged the reign of Gordian III aggressively for civic bronze emissions, producing an unusually diverse run of large-module types during his six-year rule. The city had been refounded under its Greek name following earlier Hellenistic settlement, and its civic coinage under the Severans and their successors reflects sustained municipal ambition rather than routine output.
