| Reverse description | A hexastyle temple depicted in frontal elevation, raised on a two-stepped podium, with clearly rendered columns supporting an entablature and pediment. Within the intercolumniation stands a cult statue of Artemis the Huntress, advancing to the right, holding a bow in her left hand and reaching over her shoulder with her right hand to draw an arrow from a quiver at her back. The composition is typical of civic temple-type reverses on Carian Provincial coinage. The Greek legend is distributed across the field and exergue area, naming the presiding archon and the issuing city. |
