| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, presented in three-quarter frontal view, with finely rendered curling hair beneath the laurel wreath and elaborate paludamentum and lorica details visible at the shoulder. The effigy is of youthful character, consistent with portraits of Elagabalus struck at eastern provincial mints during his brief reign. The Greek imperial legend runs around the periphery, with beaded border framing the design. |
