| Beschrijving keerzijde | The emperor, togate and holding a branch, is depicted seated in a quadriga of four elephants advancing to the right, a composition associated with triumphal and divine honors in Alexandrian coinage. The four elephants are rendered in detail with overlapping bodies filling the broad flan, conveying a sense of ceremonial procession. A second figure, possibly a Victory or attendant, appears to accompany the quadriga. The date regnal legend appears in the field. This reverse type commemorates Domitian's triumphal status and divine associations as celebrated in the Alexandrian mint. |
