| 裏面の説明 | Two reclining river-gods, identified as Maiandros and Marsyas, face each other across the central field, each leaning upon a water-urn from which streams flow, in the classical personification tradition of Phrygian coinage. Between the two figures stands a filleted thyrsus, a symbol of Dionysiac cult prominent in the iconography of Apamea Cibotus. The composition is balanced and occupies the full flan, with the magistrate's name and ethnic legend distributed around the periphery in two lines. |
