Reverse description Androklos, the mythological founder and ktistes of Ephesus, depicted as a heroic rider galloping to the right on horseback, brandishing a spear in his raised right hand. Beneath the horse, a boar runs to the right, referencing the oracular legend that Androklos would found his city where a boar led him. The reverse legend, divided around the field, names the grammateus (civic secretary) Paitos as the magistrate responsible for the issue, and identifies the issuing city as Ephesus.
