| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The emperor's effigy displays a radiate laurel wreath and drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. A continuous Greek imperial legend encircles the portrait in the field, reading from the upper left. The flan is broad and irregular, characteristic of large Alexandrian bronze issues of the mid-2nd century AD. |
