| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the robust portraiture style characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The emperor's effigy dominates the field, with the laurel wreath rendered in fine detail atop his close-cropped hair. The Greek legend encircles the bust along the periphery, identifying the emperor with his full imperial titulature. The flan shows the typical irregular edge common to hammered Alexandrian bronzes of this period. |
