Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the standard Roman imperial style, with the laurel wreath clearly indicated. The legend encircles the bust in Greek characters, naming the emperor with his titles. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical wear and patination consistent with an Alexandrian bronze tetradrachm-sized piece.
