Obverse description Laureate half-length bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, clad in cuirass and aegis, the latter with scaled texture and a gorgoneion visible at the breast. The emperor's effigy is rendered in a vigorous, high-relief style characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The Greek legend encircles the bust within a beaded border, reading ΑΥΤ ΤΡΑΙΑΝ ϹΕΒ ΓΕΡΜ ΔΑΚΙΚ, abbreviating his imperial titles of Imperator, Augustus, Germanicus, and Dacicus.
