Obverse description Radiate, draped half-length bust of the emperor Trajan facing right, wearing a wreath adorned with ears of corn, with an aegis on the left shoulder. The effigy presents the emperor in a heroic, semi-nude manner consistent with Alexandrian civic coinage of the period. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Greek characters, identifying the emperor with his official titulature.

Reverse description The sun god Helios, radiate and in divine splendor, drives a galloping quadriga to the right, depicted in dynamic motion with the four horses shown in full stride. Above the quadriga, a small unidentified object is depicted being carried or supported by two birds, likely eagles, an unusual and iconographically distinctive element. The composition reflects the syncretic Greco-Egyptian religious tradition of Alexandria, where Helios was closely associated with solar and regal power. The regnal date appears in the field.
