| 裏面の説明 | The syncretic deity Herishef-Heracles depicted standing frontally upon a stepped podium within an Egyptian naos-style temple framed by two columns adorned with uraei. The figure wears the Egyptian kalathos (modius) atop his head, combining Egyptian and Hellenistic divine attributes. A Nemean lion skin is draped over the left arm, which also cradles a club, while the right hand is extended downward toward a lion standing to the left with head turned right. The architectural framing and the fusion of Egyptian and Greek iconographic elements reflect the syncretic religious milieu of Roman Alexandria. The Greek legend in the exergual and field areas designates the nome of issue and the regnal year. |
