| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan Decius facing right, portrayed with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder and military cuirass, the effigy rendered in the three-quarter rear view characteristic of later provincial coinage. The imperial titulature runs in Greek legend around the periphery of the flan. The portrait displays the typical stern, mature features associated with Decian coinage from the Ionian mint at Teos. |
