Obverse description Bare or radiate head of Divus Augustus facing right, depicted in profile with finely rendered features characteristic of Julio-Claudian portraiture. The Latin legend DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER curves around the periphery of the flan. A simpulum or priestly implement appears in the left field, referencing the deified emperor's sacral status. The flan is broad and irregular, typical of provincial Hispanian coinage of the early imperial period. The overall style reflects the workshops of Emerita Augusta under Tiberius.
