| Beschrijving keerzijde | Asclepius, the god of medicine, stands facing with head turned to the left, his right hand resting upon a serpent-entwined staff (caduceus); before him stands Hygieia, facing right, extending a patera from which she feeds a serpent. Between the two deities stands the diminutive figure of Telesphorus, facing front, clad in his characteristic hooded mantle. The composition is a standard Asclepian triad grouping well attested in Cilician provincial coinage, emphasising the sanctuary's healing cult. The Greek legend is distributed in the field and along the periphery, incorporating the retrograde Ρ and the regnal year numeral ΒϚ (year 26). |
