| Beschrijving keerzijde | The emperor is depicted mounted on a prancing horse advancing to the right, clad in a billowing chlamys, his right arm raised and poised to thrust a spear downward toward a fallen enemy figure beneath the horse's hooves. The composition reflects the standard Roman imperial equestrian triumph type widely adopted in provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period. The partially preserved Greek legend in the field references the civic identity of the Scepsian Dardanians, with the opening portion of the magistrate's or community's name lost to damage or die wear. |
