| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, depicted from the front in a three-quarter perspective. The cuirass is prominently adorned with a gorgoneion at the centre, a characteristic detail of imperial military portraiture of the Severan period. The bust is rendered with strong plastic modelling typical of provincial bronze coinage from Asia Minor. The obverse legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. |
