| Reverse description | A tetrastyle temple depicted in frontal elevation, its four columns framing the standing figure of Dionysus orientated to the left within the intercolumniation. The deity is shown holding a cantharus in his extended right hand and a thyrsus in his left, in the conventional pose associated with Dionysiac cult imagery on provincial bronzes of the Severan period. The architectural rendering includes a pediment above the columns, reflecting the importance of local religious cult at Apollonis. The reverse legend in Greek characters is distributed around the temple type within a beaded border. |
