Reverse description Two deities stand facing one another in the field: Asclepius, depicted facing with his head turned to the right, holds his attribute serpent-entwined staff (caduceus-staff) in his right hand; to his left stands Apollo-Tyrimnaios, the principal civic deity of Thyatira, facing left and holding a laurel branch in one hand and a double axe (labrys) in the other, the latter being a hallmark attribute of this regional cult figure. The composition reflects the religious syncretism characteristic of Lydian provincial coinage of the Severan period. The magistrate's legend is distributed across the field and exergue.
