Behind him, two Nemeses stand facing one another in a symmetrical composition, each holding their respective attributes, symbolising the dual cult of the Nemeses venerated at Smyrna. The scene is enclosed by a circular Greek legend referencing the city's triple neocorate status and the presiding strategos, with a beaded border at the edge of the flan. |
