Reverse description The lunar deity Mên stands facing left in full figure, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with a crescent, and clad in short chiton and chlamys. He extends his right hand holding a patera in the act of libation, while his left hand grasps a tall sceptre or spear. At his feet lies a bucranium (ox skull), a characteristic sacrificial attribute associated with the cult of Mên. A multi-line Greek legend naming the local grammateus and the civic authority of Nysa encircles the field.
