| Beschrijving keerzijde | Tyche, the tutelary goddess of the city, stands in full figure facing left, draped in a long chiton and himation, wearing a kalathos (modius-shaped crown) upon her head. In her extended right hand she holds a ship's rudder resting on the ground, symbolizing the city's fortune and governance, while her left arm cradles a large cornucopia overflowing with abundance. The figure is rendered in the provincial Antonine style with clearly delineated drapery folds. The circular magistrate legend ΕΠΙ ΔΑΜΑ ΑΡΧΟΝΤΟϹ Α, naming the local archon Damas and recording his first term of office, runs around the periphery, again featuring the distinctive long-serifed Δ consistent with the obverse die. |
