Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Lucius Verus, cuirassed and draped with paludamentum, facing right and seen from the rear, presenting the back of the shoulder and drapery in a three-quarter rear view typical of provincial bronzes. The legend encircles the bust in Greek characters, identifying the emperor. The portrait conveys the characteristic full beard and youthful features associated with Lucius Verus in the early co-imperial period. The style reflects the Antonine provincial die-cutting tradition of the Cyzicene mint.
