| Obverse description | Youthful cuirassed bust of Commodus as Caesar, draped with paludamentum, laureate, facing right, depicted in three-quarter frontal view. The portrait reflects the early co-reign period under Marcus Aurelius (177–180 AD), rendered in the provincial workshop style characteristic of Phrygian civic coinage. The obverse legend, partially preserved and possibly tooled, reads ]Α Λ ΑΥΡ ΚΟΜΜΟΔΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the young prince by his Augustan title. |
