Obverse description Laureate bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, depicted with a long beard and flowing curls, wearing cuirass and paludamentum, seen from centre. The imperial effigy is rendered in the characteristic Antonine style with detailed treatment of the hair and drapery folds. The encircling obverse legend reads ΑΥ Κ Μ ΑΥ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature.
