Obverse description Laureate bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, depicted with characteristic long beard and long curled locks, clad in cuirass and paludamentum, seen from the centre. The emperor's portrait reflects the mature Antonine style with detailed rendering of the drapery folds. The obverse legend, rendered in Greek, encircles the bust and identifies the emperor by his imperial titulature.

Reverse description Three deities arranged across the field in a tripartite composition. To the left, Athena stands facing right, her weight resting on a shield, holding a spear; at centre, Demeter stands facing left, pouring from a patera over a lighted altar and holding a long torch; to the right, Dionysus stands facing left, extending a cantharus over a panther at his feet and holding a thyrsus. The reverse has been noted as tooled. The grouping reflects the syncretic religious identity of the Lesbian koinon.
