正面描述 Draped and cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus to right, laureate, wearing paludamentum over cuirass, viewed from centre; the portrait rendered in the imperial style of the Antonine period with characteristic idealized facial features. The obverse legend runs around the periphery of the flan in Greek characters, identifying the emperor by his Augustan titulature.

附加信息

The Koinon of Lesbos was an island league whose coinage operated under the authority of the Roman provincial administration at Pergamum. This piece was struck during the co-reign of Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, a period when the eastern provinces were simultaneously managing the aftermath of the Parthian War and the first outbreak of the Antonine Plague — a pandemic carried back by returning troops that killed an estimated five million people across the empire between 165 and 180 AD.

The magistrate's name preserved in the obverse legend places this issue within a datable sequence of Lesbian provincial bronzes, a series that remains poorly catalogued compared to mainland Anatolian civic coinage.
