Obverse description Draped and cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus, seen from behind, facing left, wearing a laureate crown; the paludamentum (military cloak) is visible over the left shoulder. The legend encircling the bust reads ΑΥ ΚΑΙ ΛΟΥ ΑΥ ΟΥΗΡΟϹ, identifying the emperor in Greek titulature. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Ephesian mint during the joint reign of Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus.
