| Obverse description | Draped and cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus, laureate, facing left and seen from the rear, with the paludamentum (military cloak) visible over the left shoulder. The emperor's portrait is rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Ionian civic coinage of the mid-second century AD. The obverse legend, in Greek capitals, encircles the bust and identifies the emperor by his imperial titulature. |
