| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from a three-quarter rear perspective, conveying a sense of imperial authority and military prowess. The emperor's effigy displays paludamentum folds over the left shoulder and articulated cuirass detailing. The encircling Greek legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Pergamene conventus under the reign of Gordian III (238–244 AD). The flan is slightly irregular, as is characteristic of hammered civic bronzes of this period. |
