Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, portrayed as seen from the rear, with the radiate crown's pointed rays clearly articulated above the head. The emperor's paludamentum is visible over the left shoulder, and the cuirass is rendered with fine detail. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the field, with the inscription partially visible along the left and upper margins of the flan.
