| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, portrayed in three-quarter view from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass articulated in detail. The imperial effigy is rendered in the prevailing provincial style of the Ephesian mint, with bold, high-relief modeling characteristic of Asian Greek coinage of the mid-3rd century AD. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan. |
