| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus enthroned to the left, rendered in the conventional Hellenistic manner, his semi-draped figure seated upon a throne. In his extended right hand he holds a figure of Nike, and in his left hand a long sceptre resting against his shoulder. The civic ethnic legend of Antioch ad Maeandrum is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing authority. The composition reflects the widespread adoption of the enthroned Zeus type among Carian civic bronzes of the Severan and Gordian periods. |
