| Beschrijving keerzijde | A hexastyle temple depicted in elevation, with six columns supporting a straight (horizontal) entablature and pediment set upon a stepped podium; within the intercolumniation, a cult statue of Ephesian Artemis (Artemis Ephesia) is shown frontally in the characteristic xoanon-like pose with multiple breasts and ornamental lower body. The architectural rendering is characteristic of Anatolian civic bronze coinage of the third century. The ethnic legend is divided across the field, reading ΕΥΜΕΝΕΩΝ above and ΑΧΑΙΩΝ below or in the exergue. |
