On the left stands the cult image of Ephesian Artemis (Artemis Ephesia), shown frontally in the characteristic xoanon form with multiple rows of breast-like ornaments and flanking stags. On the right, Asclepius stands facing right, leaning on his serpent-entwined staff (caduceus). The reverse legend distributed around the field records the name of the presiding magistrate and the honorific titles of both cities. |
