| Reverse description | Zeus standing facing, head turned to left, holding an eagle in his right hand (reworked or re-engraved as a patera) and resting his left hand upon a long sceptre (reworked or re-engraved as the serpent-entwined staff of Asclepius). To the left of the main figure stands the diminutive chthonic deity Telesphorus, rendered frontally in his characteristic hooded cloak. The composition reflects the syncretic religious traditions of the Greek cities of Mysia, combining Olympian and healing cult imagery within a single reverse type. |
