正面描述 Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, seen from the rear, with finely rendered paludamentum and muscled cuirass visible at the shoulder. The imperial effigy is portrayed in the characteristic provincial style of the Ephesian mint, with carefully detailed hair beneath the laurel wreath. A beaded border frames the field, encircled by the Greek imperial titulature legend. The portrait occupies the majority of the obverse field, conveying the emperor's youthful features in high relief consistent with early third-century provincial die-cutting.

正面铭文 ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ
(Translation: Emperor Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus)
背面描述 Zeus enthroned, seated to the left, depicted in a majestic pose holding a small cult-statue of Artemis of Ephesus in his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre in his left. The cult-statue of Artemis is rendered in the distinctive Ephesian manner with characteristic multiple supports. Zeus is shown with draped lower body, bare chest, and divine authority befitting his role as chief deity. The reverse legend in Greek encircles the composition within a beaded border, identifying Ephesus as the foremost city of Asia.
