Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, portrayed in three-quarter rear view, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the cuirass decorated in military fashion. The effigy displays the characteristic youthful features of the emperor. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust, reading from upper left to lower right, identifying the emperor by his full titulature.
