| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Domitian facing right, rendered in the Flavian provincial style with characteristically heavy features and a prominent laurel wreath. The portrait is set within a dotted border, with the Greek imperial titulature legend running around the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregular and shows typical characteristics of provincial hammered coinage, with a patina of dark green encrustation consistent with long burial. |

| Reverse description | Ares, the god of war, depicted standing and advancing to the right in a dynamic pose, helmeted and wearing military dress with a chlamys billowing behind him. In his right hand he carries a long spear held diagonally, while over his left shoulder he bears a military trophy adorned with arms and armour. The abbreviated civic legend appears divided in the field to either side of the figure, flanking the deity. |
