Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, portrayed in three-quarter view from the front, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and segmented cuirass across the chest. The imperial effigy displays a characteristic short beard and curled hair beneath the laurel wreath. The Greek legend encircles the bust along the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The die work reflects the provincial style typical of the Lydian mint of Hierocaesarea under the Severan dynasty.
