Reverse description The emperor Caracalla is depicted as a victorious military commander, shown on horseback galloping vigorously to the right, his right arm raised and brandishing a spear directed toward a bound and seated captive below. The captive, rendered in a submissive posture beneath the horse's hooves, symbolises Roman martial dominance over conquered peoples. A two-line Greek inscription appears in the lower exergual area, divided by a horizontal line, while the remaining legend encircles the upper and lateral periphery of the field. The composition conveys the conventional Roman adventus or military triumph iconography adapted for provincial civic coinage.
