Reverse description An octastyle temple is depicted in elevation, its eight columns framing a cult statue of Artemis Ephesia standing frontally at centre, wearing the characteristic kalathos (cylindrical crown) and supported by lateral struts in the traditional Ephesian manner. Within the pediment, two Nikai are shown flanking and supporting a globe, a motif alluding to imperial and divine victory, while two doors are rendered in the tympanum below. The reverse legend ΕΦΕϹΙΩΝ ΔΙϹ ΝΕΩΚΟΡΩΝ, distributed in the field, proclaims Ephesus as twice neokoros — twice honoured as warden of the imperial cult — a prestigious civic title reflected in the monumental architectural imagery.
