| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian I facing right, portrayed with short beard, the cuirass rendered with visible pteryges at the shoulder; the effigy is shown in three-quarter rear view, consistent with provincial coinage conventions of the mid-third century. The encircling Greek legend runs clockwise around the bust. The portrait displays the characteristic military presentation of Valerian as emperor, combining the radiate crown with full military dress. |
