| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered from a rear perspective showing the musculature of the cuirass in fine detail. The laureate wreath is clearly articulated, with the aegis visible at the shoulder. The surrounding Greek legend is disposed in a circular arrangement within a beaded border. The portrait is executed in the vigorous Alexandrian style characteristic of the Trajanic period, with strong facial modelling and naturalistic hair treatment. |
