| 表面の説明 | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic Trajanic portrait style, with a bold laureate wreath crowning the head. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, partially obscured by the coin's irregular edge and surface wear. The strike is slightly off-center, consistent with hand-hammered provincial coinage of the Alexandrian mint. |

Year 18 of Trajan's reign in Egypt — 114/115 AD — fell during his Parthian campaign, the most ambitious Roman military operation since Augustus. Alexandria's mint continued issuing dated bronzes by regnal year throughout, a bureaucratic rhythm largely indifferent to what was happening on the eastern frontier. The III#4865 reference places this within the Dattari-Savio corpus, the essential catalogue for Alexandrian bronzes, compiled from one of the great private collections of the early twentieth century.
