| Reverse description | Artemis depicted striding to the right in a dynamic pose, her bow held before her in the act of hunting. To the left of the goddess stands a flaming altar with a tree rising behind it, while to the right a stag — her sacred animal — completes the hunting scene composition. The design reflects the strong Hellenistic religious tradition of Alexandria, blending Greek divine imagery with local cultic associations. The regnal year legend L ΙΓ (Year 13) appears in the field, dating the issue precisely to the 13th year of Trajan's reign in the Egyptian calendar. The reverse field shows typical Alexandrian fabric with a broad, slightly convex surface. |
