(Translation: Emperor Trajan Augustus Germanicus Dacicus)
Reverse description Nike, the winged goddess of victory, advancing left in flowing garments, holding a wreath in her extended right hand and a long palm-branch in her left. To the left of the central field stands a trophy — a post hung with captured enemy armour and weapons — alluding to Trajan's Dacian victories. The regnal date L ΙΓ (Year 13) appears in the field, dating the issue to the 13th year of Trajan's reign in the Alexandrian calendar (109–110 AD). The reverse field is broad with a plain ground line beneath the figures, typical of Alexandrian provincial bronze coinage of this period.
