| Reverse description | The emperor Trajan, laureate and wearing a toga, stands upright in a quadriga advancing to the right, holding an eagle-tipped sceptre in one hand and a branch in the other. The four horses of the quadriga are depicted in dynamic forward motion, conveying imperial triumph. This reverse type alludes to Trajan's triumphal procession, referencing his Dacian victories celebrated in the regnal year recorded by the date formula. The date legend L ΙΕ (Year 15) appears in the field, corresponding to the fifteenth year of Trajan's reign in the Egyptian calendar (111–112 AD). The composition is consistent with Alexandrian commemorative reverse types of this period. |
